Secure-EU Project Partners Actively Implement the Project Work Plan
About Secure-EU Project
The SECURE-EU project, funded by the EU’s Cybersecurity and Trust Programme, is a vital initiative aimed at enhancing cybersecurity for SMEs. By providing open-source security solutions and advancing white-hack testing through the HackOlympics, the project addresses the increasing cyber threats faced by critical infrastructures and small businesses. This initiative is crucial in a practical sense as it empowers SMEs with enterprise-grade security, ensuring they can operate safely in today’s digital landscape.
The SECUR-EU Project started its implementation on 1st December 2023 and gathers 14 Consortium Partners Organizations and 2 Supporting Organizations, from Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, and Romania. The Kick-Off meeting has been organized by the Coordinator EXIMPROD ENGINEERING (EPG) in a hybrid format and the physical meeting took place on 1st -2nd February 2024 in Predeal, Romania. The Project Officer Mrs. Felicia CUTAS of ECCC joined on-line the team of the 28 Consortium representatives actively participating in the Kick-Off Meeting with various presentations over 1 ½ days. The Project Officer highlighted the key elements related to the project implementation phase, including monitoring and reporting, reviews, communication, dissemination, exploitation and visibility of funding, policy feedback
Partners
Our project thrives on the collaboration of 14 partner organizations and two supporting groups across Europe, including Romania, Greece, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Norway. Working together, we exchange valuable information and leverage each other’s strengths. This synergy enhances our ability to tackle cybersecurity challenges effectively.
Our Contribution
At DVLOPER.IO, we are deeply involved in the SECURE-EU project, contributing to threat modeling, quality assurance and deployment support. Our team ensures the platform meets stringent standards through rigorous testing. We automate deployment processes, configuring network and environment setup but also monitoring the attack simulation scenarios on Distributed IDS system deployed on the edge for IOT cyberattacks detection, our Pilot Use Case within the project. This critical role not only drives the project forward but also highlights our commitment to enhancing cybersecurity for SMEs.
Updates on the Project
Since December 1, 2023, the SECURE-EU project has made significant strides. We've been deeply involved in deploying initial solutions and testing pilots, gathering crucial data logs and threat information. This data is vital for refining our security methodologies.
The SECUR-EU Consortium is currently focusing on coordination and implementation activities, including tasks such as: Intelligence and Threat Modelling on Critical Infrastructures, Advanced AI-based Predictive Analytics for Cyber-Threats; Consortium Guidelines and Collaboration Tools; SECUR-EU Attack, Detection, and Prevention Systems Enhancements; Plan for the SECUR-EU Integrated Toolset; The Key Role of Cybersecurity for Regional Coordination Centers; CyberDiplomacy, Current Challenges, Action Recommendation and Remediation Guidance; and Impact, Dissemination and Communication Plan.
Four deliverables have been finalized on time in the first six months of the project implementation. Other achievements include: preparations of the PUCs, coordinated by ASM Terni; initial assessment of the tools from previous EU projects on data traffic monitoring and anomaly detection; further contributions to platform architecture and tools list; identification and further developments of initial offensive and defensive solutions; and initial fine-tuning and adaptations of the machine learning algorithms. Several dissemination and training activities have already been performed for training and awareness-raising purposes. Specifically, two separate events were organized by Clone Systems, with the support of International Hellenic University and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, highlighting the objectives of the SECUR-EU project, followed by hands-on training on penetration testing methodologies. More information can be found on our LinkedIn profile (SECUR-EU) well as on our project website (www.secur-eu.eu).
